About Pulse
A live map of Toronto's transit fleet
Pulse is a live map of TTC buses and streetcars, made for when you're looking for one in particular.
Pulse shows where vehicles actually are, not where the schedule says they should be. Positions come from the TTC's own real-time feeds, and update as soon as the TTC publishes them.
What you can do with Pulse
- Search one box for a fleet number, a route, a stop, or a make, model or series
- Filter the map by make, model, year, series or route. The filter stays on until you clear it, and you can save one as a hunt
- Tap a vehicle to see where it's going and when it reaches each stop ahead
- Tap a stop to see what's coming, grouped by route
- Check service alerts for delays and disruptions
- Save vehicles, routes and stops, and log the ones you've spotted
Reading the map
Every marker shows a route number, with a symbol and a colour for what powers the vehicle. Markers too close together to tell apart group into a bubble; tap it to zoom in until they separate.
- Grey marker with a fuel pump
- Diesel bus
- Purple marker with a leaf
- Hybrid bus
- Green marker with a charging battery
- Battery-electric bus

- Streetcar
- Grey marker with no symbol
- A vehicle Pulse can’t match to its fleet list
- A question mark instead of a route number
- No route reported — usually not in service
- A plain round bubble with a number
- That many vehicles close together — tap to zoom in
- A blue line
- The route the vehicle you picked is running
What Pulse can't show
The TTC doesn't publish live data for everything it runs. Its feeds leave out the subway (Line 1 Yonge-University, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth and Line 4 Sheppard), the light rail (Line 5 Eglinton and Line 6 Finch West), and the community bus routes.
You can still look up those routes in Pulse — their stops and schedules are all there. You just won't see moving vehicles or arrival times, and Pulse tells you when that is the reason.
No accounts, no tracking
There is no sign-up and no password. Anything you save is tied to a random ID for this device, not to a name or an email. Location access is optional, and your location never leaves your device. The privacy policy has the details.
An independent enthusiast project
Pulse is built by Yao Fu with Claude Code, for people who care about buses. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) — it only reads the TTC's public data feeds.
